One day traffic trial by West Bridge starting 10:00, Thursday 31 Jan

Before starting the next phase of work to the outside of the West Bridge, we will be holding a one-day trial to help us understand any challenges for keeping traffic moving both underneath the bridge and along C Road. The trial will take place from 16:00 on Thursday 31 January until 10:00 Friday 1 February.

Only once we’re happy with the trial will we proceed with next steps.

SECTION OF C ROAD TO REDUCE TO SINGLE LANE TRAFFIC

This trial will mainly impact vehicles going down C Road. The section of C Road beneath the West Bridge will reduce to a single lane. Vans delivering to Greenhill Mushroom will still be able to load on the apron area. Unless you need access here or to any businesses in the immediate vicinity, we’d advise you to use an alternative route that avoids this section of the market.

FORK LIFT TRUCK DRIVERS

This will not affect the forklift truck route that runs underneath the West Bridge. This will stay open throughout. However, if you drive a forklift truck you may need to wait  at times as we allow lorries and vans to pass through.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

There will be traffic management on site for the full duration of the trial to help direct the flow of traffic and observe the trial. We will have CGMA and VINCI St. Modwen staff on hand, as well as a Health & Safety representative. You can speak to them on the night if you have any questions.
